The European Transfer window has had never ending sagas. With teams still in need of reinforcements, here are some of the transfer deals that can be finalised before the window shuts.
Sterling to Aston Villa FC.
Several media outlets including Gola Tv have reported that Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling is in talks to join Villa. Chelsea are looking to offload Sterling due to his high wages and having failed to deliver after below par performances in the last two seasons. Sterling has been offered to Manchester United.
Johan Duran to Chelsea FC.
I just don't see how Chelsea pays a premium for Osimhen. With Sterling intresting Villa, the negotiations might sway to a possible swap deal between Duran and Sterling. That way Chelsea gets to offload Sterling and get a new 9 in Duran.
Victor Osimhen to Al Ahli.
Chelsea are reluctant to pay Victor Osimhen wages which is proving as a huge barrier to complete his move to Chelsea. Enzo Maresca has reiterated to the board, his desire to have a completely different profile to Jackson. However Napoli are still holding out for high fee and Osimhen is not willing to drop his wages. This could see Al Ahli take advantage of lagging negotiations between Chelsea and Osimhen to make a move for him.
Federico Chiesa to FC Barcelona.
Chiesa's agents have communicated to the Bluagrana about his desire to join them. Barcelona have been in the market looking for a winger. Their intrest in Spain sensation, Nico Williams was short-lived after they were priced out by Athetic Bilbao's board. His salaries proved to be a stumbling block to Hansi Flick side who are struggling financially.
Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace.
The resurgence of Kai Havertz has seen Nketiah deemed surplus to requirements by Arteta at Arsenal. Premier League side Crystal Palace are looking to invest wisely in Olise transfer funds. Palace are still in talks to make the move done.
Romelu Lukaku to Napoli.
Chelsea has struggled to move Romelu Lukaku due to his high wages for the past 3 seasons. SW6 have been in talks with Napoli all summer to get the move done. Lukaku has verbally agreed a 3-year contract with the Naples as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
In conlusion, this transfer window has failed to live up to the hype and dopamine that comes with it however we may be in for a tantalising deadline day drama with European clubs unwilling to pay high fees for players and opting for cheaper options instead.
