Sirak Samson Bein, now simply known as Sirak Bein, is one of the best gems that’s coming from the Monaco academy. A versatile player that can play as a centre back, as a right back and has even played as a right midfielder in the UEFA Youth League. He was born on August 2007, so he’s still a very young player.
Sirak Bein came from Lausanne Sport U-17 back in Switzerland but also played some matches for the U-19 side. He played a total of thirty matches, scoring just two goals, remember he’s a defender. He reached the semifinals of the Swiss Elite U-17 League, after finishing fifth in the regular season, winning 4-0 in the first leg against Zürich to then losing 8-0 in the second leg after the extra time.
He made an overall great season where he had the chance to captain the team in three occasions and leading the team to eleven back-to-back wins combining the league and the playoffs. He then signed for Monaco in the summer and has accumulated fifteen matches in all competitions for the U-19 team and has scored four goals. Even though the results aren’t great, he’s only won three matches out of fifteen, he’s gaining a lot of experience that will benefit his career with such a great number of minutes at the age of seventeen years.
Sadly, for me, he played for the U-18 Switzerland in some friendlies combining six matches instead of playing for his country, Eritrea. But this isn’t his fault at all because the problem is with Eritrea as it’s a country more hermetic than North Korea and hasn’t played an official match for more than four years, which has led to the country being out of the FIFA rankings. If Eritrea starts playing official matches again, I’m sure that Sirak Bein would proudly represent his country, but he’s stuck in the politics of a gruesome tyrant unable to control his own population.
