Should Manchester United be bringing Raheem Sterling to Old Trafford?

Raheem Sterling and some other Chelsea players have currently been excluded from the Chelsea's squad for the 2024/25 season. They have been told by their new manager Enzo Maresca that they are not part of his plans. Chelsea are looking for ways to release them due to their high wages. These players include Trevor Chalobah, Ben Chillwell and Raheem Sterling. Interests have been generated by clubs for them, but there haven't been any offers or concrete talks yet.

Manchester United on the other hand are ready to let their 24 years old English winger, Jadon Sancho leave. Clubs like PSG and Juventus have held talks with Man United, but no agreements has been made. Recently, Chelsea have shown interest in Jadon Sancho, and they are ready and waiting to see if Man United can consider a situation of a swap deal involving Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho. Sources have it that Manchester United are considering the deal, but no official negotiations about the swap at the moment.

Ex players Rio Ferdinand and Troy Deeney have given their opinions on the current situation. They both expressed how positive it's going to be for the Erik Ten Hag side to bring in the England international to the red side of Manchester. With the lack of form and effectiveness Man United's star, Marcus Rashford has been having for quite a while and the low output Erik Ten Hag's frontline give, signing Raheem Sterling can be a massive boost for them. Looking at his statistics and performances at both Manchester City and England, the 29 year old winger can offer so much to them. He is going to bring outputs, fantastic performances and most importantly, winning mentality. Raheem Sterling has competed at the highest level for both clubs and country. He has played in the Champions League final, Euros final, won multiple Premier League trophies and many more being a very important player to his team during these occasions.

Yes, he hasn't had the best time and performances at Chelsea due to so many reasons like trying to adapt to the club, constant change of managers, ongoing project and so on, but that shouldn't rob him off the potentials he still has and how effective he can still be. He's had some quite impact during this period too, in terms of outputs and performance in some important games for the London club.

At this point, with the way things stand, Jadon Sancho priority is Chelsea, Raheem Sterling won't turn down the opportunity to play for Manchester United, Chelsea want Jadon Sancho and Manchester United need an addition to their attack. It's going to be a win-win for every single party involved if the swap deal should take place.
