In the last two seasons Valencia has had a hole in their attack, wingers. Los che have either had 3 wingers or loaned players who don't get signed. That has changed with the signing of Luis Rioja and Valencia will go into the season with four owned wingers.
Luis Rioja has been a target for Valencia since April but the club was unable to carry out the operation due to lack of sales. Mamardashvili's imminent transfer to Liverpool has opened up a space for Valencia to sign him. This move signals the end of Valencia's transfer dealings this summer pending any departures.
Dimitrievski, Rafa Mir, Dani Gomez and Luis Rioja have all joined Valencia this summer and Cömert and Cristian Rivero departed on loan. Squad depth wise, Baraja has his requested two players for each position in his preferred 4-4-2 .
Pressure will be on Baraja to surpass last season's 9th place finish with an arguably better squad than last year. Two strikers in, a left winger and a goalkeeper have been signed. No changes in defence as Valencia want to sell Cenk before going out for a more experienced defender, if this doesn't happen the current squad is most likely Valencia's squad for the season.
