Matchday 8: Schalke vs Hertha Berlin

Schalke are back home with Jacob Fimpel in charge for his second match until the new coach is named.


Hertha get off to a quick start and open the scoring in the 9th minute, a goal by Mickaël Cuisance sees the visitors get 9n the scoreboard first, Heekeren has the ball go off his chest and rebound into the back of the net.


SCHALKE 0 - HERTHA BERLIN 1


Schalke would put on the pressure and a beautiful give and go in the 24th minutes, with Karaman and Younes from on the edge of the box sees Karaman put home the goal of the weekend, a fabulous curler that goes top corner and Schalke even things up.


SCHALKE 1 - HERTHA BERLIN 1


Schalke would keep up the attack and from a corner kick at the 33rd minute, Murkin on the short corner will end up cross the ball over the box and to the feet of Tobias Mohr who is unmarked and he blasts it into the back of the net.


SCHALKE 2 - HERTHA BERLIN 1


The second half did not have much action but at the 71st minute a horrible sloppy tackle from Schallenberg in the box sees Hertha awarded the penalty kick.

Smail Prevljak will take the kick for Hertha and he converts the shot.


SCHALKE 2- HERTHA BERLIN 2


With the final whistle the match ends in a draw and points are shared.


Schalke again drop two points after having the lead.


We move now into international break and Schalke will announce a new coach in this time.
