Man City

After 4 consecutive defeats, it has become evident that City need an injection of youth and physicality within the spine of the their team to help revitalise them at the elite level.

City currently lack a ‘runner’ profile in attack who can attack space and stretch defences in behind, adding another dimension/tactical weapon to their arsenal , as well as, much needed transitional prowess and goals (since Kevin De Bruyne’s athleticisms declined). Bryan Mbeumo is an affordable, prem proven solution who can provide this, with the capabilities of doubling up as a #CF when Haaland needs resting.

Carlos Baleba provides physicality and engine to an otherwise porcelain City midfield. Baleba perfectly compliments Rodri as a powerful carry first midfielder, who’s industrious in duels whilst covering immense ground. Juxtaposing Rodri, an elite passer, who can dominate his zone. Similarly to Mbeumo, Baleba is a versatile player capable of playing #6 when Rodri needs resting.

Finally, City needs an elite channel defender. With Kyle Walker seemingly past his best, City need a ‘lockdown’ defender capable of nullifying elite attackers and proving a physical presence against opposition attacks. Ousmane Diomande can provide this, whilst being a long term upgrade on Dias as a CCB and potentially an inverted CB (Some interpretation of the John Stones role).

These 3 players would transform this current city side, majorly boosting their athletic/physical floor and ceiling. They will also add another strategy to approach games with as they are now capable of going toe to toe with elite physical opponents, devastate teams by soaking up pressure and hitting them on the counter giving them the versatility prime City had to overcome any opponent.
