Girona Close to Valencia's Asking Price for Guerra

Actualizado: 21 sept

It is not a transfer window if any of Valencia's big talents isn't up for sale. This is the case for Javi Guerra and the same for Yunus Musah who left for A.C Milan last summer. It has become a regular part of every Valencia transfer window to lose an important part of the squad. The predicted victim was goalkeeper Mamardashvili especially after his European Championship exploits but offers haven't arrived for the most valuable goalkeeper in the world and Peter Lim's next option is Javi Guerra.

Four clubs have been reported to be interested in the young midfielder. Girona, Real Sociedad, Napoli and A.C Milan. Girona have had two offers rejected and have presented a third offer close to the 20 million euros Peter Lim wants for the 21 year old Spanish national as Relevo reporter Nacho Sanchis reported today.

Michel and Girona are clear that Guerra is the right player to replace Aleix Garcia and are pressing hard for him. Girona is currently the best placed team for Javi Guerra as they offer him Champions League football and a chance to continuing playing in Laliga.

Guerra's departure will not come as a shock to people conversant with Valencia but the big question is "Will Peter Lim reinvest the 14 million profit Valencia will make from this transfer?". Valencia have been linked with Levante midfielder Pablo Martinez as a possible replacement for Guerra. The club will be eyeing a move like that of Pepelu from last summer. This or Ruben Baraja might have to look for his Guerra replacement within Paterna.
