Evolution and Adaptation: a feature to stay ahead of the (football) curve.

Saturday, November 16, 2024. It is 10:40 Pm. For vulgar reasons, I'm at the mortuary. No bad news. Just that the waiting spot here is quiet and cozy during weekends, best place to write. Perfect for articulating this long-forgotten piece of thought.

Today, | discuss evolution and adaptation. Another core principle in a list of many. It's importance. The distinction between the two. And how it pans out in the professional universe.

Consolidating the need for evolution.

Note: since I derive this and other principles from life, this will be the same.

Evolution is a natural order of things. Humans are said to have evolved; the Earth is said to have evolved, even animals are said to have evolved. Now football is but a small part of life, it is only normal that it follows the same order as that which it is embedded in.

In football evolution is imperative. It is crucial. It is vital. It is what keeps the best at the same status while time comes to pass. Those who cannot effectively concur this process are spit out of the window.

Think of Sir Alex Ferguson and his tenure at Manchester United or Arsene Wenger and his tenure at Arsenal, both have been quoted validating the process, imperativeness and fruit ability of evolving.

The distinction.

As I write this essay a question lingers, why evolution and adaptation? Why not evolution or adaptation? Of course, the former suggests there is a relative distinction between the two and that is where I lean while writing.

Let me offer some validation...

  1. Evolution suggests of a grand goal: one that is for the greater good and executed in a wide timeframe. This bears a thought of questioning what will be not only of tomorrow but also next year? And the year after. While adaptation bears the thought of now, aiming to solve current problems.

  2. Evolution is adaptation encompassing: analogically, if we were to take an example of a torn bed sheet that needs repairing. Then, the process enabling to mend the little spot-holes in the sheet would suggest of adaptation while the bigger grander goal of mending the whole sheet would be evolution.

  3. Adaptation is relieving, evolution is adjourning: one aims to be of significance towards relinquishment, offering viable but temporary solutions, The other is the endgame, the root solution to all problems.

  4. Evolution is free of influence, adaptation is not: evolution is universal, it exists in many forms and is involuntary free of being imposed on by someone/something else's will. Evolution will take place no matter what, question is as an individual will you keep up? Adaptation needs effort to attain it you have to be meticulous, discern information available and then indulge in formulating solutions only then can you adapt.

  5. Adaptation drives towards Evolution: for an individual adaptation is the core most important aspect to adhere when one aims to evolve. As elaborated earlier, one does not define evolution, they simply board the bus towards it. Adaptation is the bus.

  6. Adaptation is individualistic, evolution is collective: adaptation is individual, selfish we may presume; it is only for who beholds it. It operates in the sense that those who make an effort will benefit, those who don't will not. Evolution is god's gift to his creation.

  7. Evolution is much more influential: this grand principle governing not only football, but life itself exerts immense influence on whatever domain it exists in. Producing solutions to problems on a wider more valuable scale than adaptation can and ever will.

  8. Evolution is transferable, adaptation is not: think of what I'm doing here. Evolution can be applied into different domains to help build future foundations. It is a principle of life thus applicable in any life concerning matters. Adaptation is specific, tuned to exist in a form that manipulates variables to obtain solutions. It differs from domain to domain.

The importance.

Football is a set of ideas, beliefs, and fundamentals governing the implementation of Metas to allow achievement of strategic goals. Typically, being informed on present day Metas is the best way to; either be the first to implement or find ways to counter those who have preceded in implementation.

Adaptation ensures sophistication of methodologies to lure fate into one's hands before counters suspect. For the best elite individuals and institutions, it is crucial to adapt to maintain status then evolve to maintain this status over successive eras. For non-elites evolution and adaptation help them compete with elites and succinctly bridge the naturally existing gap between the two.

Evolution is one among the features that enable the best individuals and institutions poke football margins and continuously lead the way while others follow. In turn this allows proper use of financial resources, consistent outlying performance, out and out success in achieving goals, acquisition of the best market prospects and so forth.

In the professional universe.

For professionals these two conjoined principles are an embodiment of their day-to-day lives. This goes as far as actually being embedded into their personalities. The few professionals I have met (at least the best of them) seem to be obsessed with being the first, not in a competitive way, but rather in an evolutionary adaptational sense. Those most deeply involved in the game know of the essence, vitality and importance of these principles hence they cherish and apply them effectively.
